Beta Gamma Sigma honor society inducts new members

April 15, 2008

The best and brightest in the Business School were recently inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma (BGS) honor society.  The spring induction ceremony was held on April 4, 2008.
Founded in 1913, BGS is a national honor society for students in business schools that are AASCB accredited.  The mission of BGS is to, “encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to foster personal and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members.”

Membership in the BGS honor society is by invitation only.  The requirements are that juniors be in the top 5% of their class, seniors in the top 10%, and graduate students during their final semester in the top 10% of their class.

Jennifer Nelson, a graduating senior in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting, has been the president of BGS for the last two years.  She will now be handing over her duties to the new President, Courtney Reihman.  Nelson says that, “Being the President of the University of Colorado Denver chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma has provided me with an incredible amount of opportunities that I would have otherwise never experienced.”

Congratulations to all the inductees for their accomplishments!
